I hope this website can become a Wikipedia for teachers of Chinese as a foreign language. After working in the field of teaching Chinese as a foreign language for some time, I've realized that becoming a Chinese teacher requires more than just speaking Chinese; it also requires understanding Chinese culture, history, and grammar. Furthermore, English proficiency is crucial for teachers. But is that enough? As teachers, we are also cultural ambassadors and need to understand foreign cultures and histories. I will do my best to make this website a strong support for teachers of Chinese as a foreign language, where you can find teaching resources to help you become an excellent teacher.

MY TEACHING METHODOLOGY

My teaching style follows a combination of the Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) approach and the audio-lingual method. Both methods emphasize immersing yourself in varying amounts of input, output, and repetition. Each lesson you will learn the language, working through a variety of grammar, comprehension, writing, and speaking exercises, followed by open-ended output to ensure you can express the language correctly on your own. I believe language and culture are inseparable, so you will learn a great deal about Chinese culture and traditions in my classes. All texts, reading materials, videos, etc., will be culturally appropriate, as language and culture shape each other.

STANDARD CHINESE

Suitable for beginners, teenagers, and adults. I've built the course based on the textbook "Learn Chinese Easily." I use Quizlet to help you memorize vocabulary, with fun matching games and vivid pictures to make it easy. I also use Google Excel to record what you learn during class for easy review afterward. I'll take care of you both in and out of class.

💬 SPOKEN CHINESE

This course is suitable for students who want to live and work in China or watch Chinese TV dramas without language barriers. I will use the *New Target Chinese Spoken English* series, progressing from beginner to advanced levels, tailored to each student's Chinese proficiency. Each lesson will be based on a theme, through which we will learn new vocabulary and sentence structures. This course will focus more on speaking and conversation practice, helping you speak Chinese like a native speaker.

This course is suitable for students who need to take the HSK exam and obtain a certificate.
